Titus Kautz is a Nebraska native with artistic roots all over the United States. He holds a Master of Music in Musical Theater from Arizona State University, a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and his Associate of Arts in Vocal Performance from Western Nebraska Community College. 


Titus began his career as a pianist, playing at weddings, funerals, churches, and competitions.  He has had the pleasure of performing with several Broadway performers including Brian Stokes Mitchell (Ragtime),  Nick Cartell (Les Misérables), Laura Osnes (Bandstand, Cinderella) ,and Taylor Louderman (Mean Girls). 


As a music director, Titus brings a sense of humor, strong leadership, and inspiring teaching skills. He prides himself in his specificity and effectiveness as a music director. Among Titus’ favorite musical direction credits are: Violet, As You Like It, Footloose, Annie Get Your Gun, Lucky Stiff (Ozark Actor’s Theatre); In the Heights (Desert Foothills Theatre); Nevermore (Arizona State University); and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Theatre West).


As a classically-trained Baritone, Titus has performed across the United States and throughout parts of Canada. Some of Titus’ favorite regional performing credits include: As You Like It (Amiens), Little Shop of Horrors (Plant Operator/Ensemble), Joseph .... Dreamcoat (Simeon),  Les Misérables (Marius), Damn Yankees (Smokey), and The 39 Steps (Hannay).


Titus has a teacher's heart. He has spent time as an Instructor of Musical Theatre at the University of North Dakota, and has taught/played previously at Western Nebraska Community College and Paradise Valley Community College, as well as being a freelance pianist at Arizona State University. Titus' unique skill set has made him an asset to the Phoenix theatre community, where he is in high demand for his prowess at the piano and on stage. His former vocal students have gone on to work on national tours, international tours, cruise ships, and at major regional theatres.


Currently, he resides in Phoenix, Arizona tickling the ivories all over town.
